1. And you may ask yourself, "Well... how did I get here?" (Tell us your journey?)
I grew up in Southern California and ultimately headed up to UC Berkeley and graduated with a double major in communications and political science. I started out in aerospace before getting into software, first in action sports and then, after moving to the Pacific Northwest, into things ranging from media to medicine and even a little bitcoin. I spent 15+ years in the agency and services world before landing here at Persefoni, doing now some of the most meaningful and rewarding work I've ever done.
2. And you may find yourself behind the wheel of a large automobile. (What do you do at Persefoni?)
I run Project Management at Persefoni, a role in which the goal is to wrangle the technical racehorses and get them to run in lockstep … all while at full speed. Every day at Persefoni is different, interesting, and fast. I love it. My job is to keep the product teams informed and aligned so we continue producing a quality platform that customers love to use, and one that will drive them to change the way they approach their business to ultimately help the planet.
3. And you may ask yourself, "Where does that highway go to?" (What are your hopes for your time at Persefoni?)
I have extensive curiosity about all the different components of this business, and lately, I’ve been keen to understand more about operations as well as data and the power it has. I'm dabbling in data science and digital transformation studies and hope to be more involved in Persefoni’s business strategy as we grow.
4. And you may say to yourself, "My God! What have I done?" (Why is Persefoni a great home for you?)
I’d worked with the (fantastic) founders on previous projects and they brought me in to help streamline some of the early product strategy and production. Before I came on, I asked co-founder Jason Offerman which existing company’s culture he would like to emulate here at Persefoni and he said, quite promptly, "Patagonia’s". I was sold. The day I accepted my position I was under evacuation orders as wildfires tore through my area in the PNW. I’d known for a while I wanted to be part of solving the climate problem on our planet, and the timing of the opportunity with Persefoni was serendipitous.
5. And you may find yourself in another part of the world... (Tell us about your life/hobbies away from work?)
I spend as much time as possible outside hiking, playing soccer, riding my motorcycle(s), skiing, and camping with my family. I love reading, although most of the reading I do these days is to my two little boys.
“Once in a Lifetime" is a series of articles designed to help our customers and partners learn more about Persefoni's truly passionate team. We're not just building award-winning software ... together, we're helping to decarbonize our planet.
