Module Overview

The GHGP and PCAF break emissions into three scopes. This helps organizations see where they’re generating emissions, as well as gain an understanding of their total carbon impact. In this module, you will learn how an organization’s emissions break down into scopes 1, 2, and 3 and start thinking about what emission sources might be relevant to your company. You will also learn the two methods often required to calculate a company's scope 2 emissions and discover how scope 3 is broken into 15 categories. Finally, you will gain an understanding of the impact of measuring all three scopes and some simple ways you can get started in calculating your scopes 1, 2, and 3 emissions.
