Emily Pierce Named Chief Global Policy Officer at Persefoni

TEMPE, AZ: June 7, 2023 –Persefoni, a leading Climate Management & Accounting Platform(CMAP)for enterprises and financial institutions, is pleased to announce the promotion of Emily Pierce as Chief Global Policy Officer. In her new role, Emily will assume leadership of global regulatory and standard-setting engagement. She will continue to help guide product development, while continuing to play a pivotal part in helping companies navigate the ever-evolving landscape of global policy developments.

Having previously served as Associate General Counsel and VP of Global Regulatory Climate Disclosure at Persefoni, Pierce brings a wealth of experience in international regulatory affairs. Before joining Persefoni, she played a pivotal role in the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission’s engagement with global regulators on emerging sustainability standards and regulatory requirements. Her knowledge and close collaboration with global regulators and standard-setters have been instrumental in the development of international disclosure frameworks, making her an invaluable asset to Persefoni and its customers.

Pierce joined Persefoni in December 2022, having previously served at the U.S. SEC as Assistant Director in the Office of International Affairs. That role involved collaborating with regulators worldwide and providing valuable insights on various cross-border regulatory policy matters, with a specific focus on climate and sustainability disclosure. Notably, she spearheaded the SEC's engagement with the International organisation of Securities Commissions(IOSCO), including active participation in multilateral work streams, including the IOSCO Sustainable Finance Task Force. Pierce directed the SEC staff engagement in IOSCO's initiatives concerning disclosure in the asset management industry, ESG ratings and data products providers, assurance standards, and carbon markets.  Through her leadership responsibilities as co-chair of the IOSCO Technical Experts Group in partnership with the Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS), she made instrumental contributions to IOSCO's ongoing dialogue with the IFRS Foundation’s International Sustainability Standards Board (ISSB). Pierce also represented the SEC within the ISSB's Jurisdictional Working Group, further solidifying her dedication to advancing sustainability efforts on a global scale.
