2025 was a defining year for Persefoni. A year marked by resilience, AI innovation, and expansion into new horizons across sustainability, compliance, and risk management.
It was also a milestone year. Persefoni marked five years since its founding, with our sixth anniversary just ahead. Over this journey, we’ve moved beyond proving what’s possible to building what lasts: enterprise technology designed to deliver measurable, enduring value as sustainability, compliance, and risk become inseparable from core business operations.
Across our platform, partnerships, and global customer base, we made meaningful progress toward our long-term vision: to build enterprise technology that delivers measurable and lasting customer value across sustainability, compliance, and risk. From major product advancements and strategic acquisitions to industry recognition and customer impact, 2025 laid the foundation for Persefoni’s next chapter.
Strengthening Our Platform and Expanding Our Reach
One of the most significant milestones of the year was Persefoni’s acquisition of Diligent’s carbon accounting customer base, forming a strategic partnership that expands access to enterprise-grade sustainability technology within broader governance and compliance ecosystems. This move reflects a clear direction: sustainability data is no longer siloed; it is becoming a core input into enterprise governance, risk, and reporting.
We also secured a $23 million Series C extension, reinforcing our ability to invest deeply in AI, automation, and product innovation to meet the growing demands of global enterprises.
That momentum was mirrored in our expanding user community. In 2025, Persefoni Pro surpassed 8,000 users worldwide, spanning more than 100 countries and every major industry. To better support global teams, we expanded platform language support across English, Italian, German, Spanish, Simplified Chinese, French, and Japanese, making Persefoni more accessible and usable for organizations operating across regions and markets.
Product Innovation Focused on Real-World Outcomes
In 2025, Persefoni’s product roadmap was guided by a single principle: pragmatic innovation that improves accuracy, efficiency, and usability for customers.
Advancing Sustainability and Climate Reporting
A major highlight of the year was the launch of Persefoni Sustainability Reporting, available at no cost to all Advanced and Pro users. Introduced with native support for CSRD, this solution was designed as a guided, workflow-driven experience, helping organizations navigate complex disclosure requirements with greater clarity, consistency, and audit readiness.

To further reduce reporting friction, we enhanced our GHG metrics reports for standards like CDP, ISSB, and SECR, enabling customers to generate aligned disclosures directly from platform data, without manual rework or fragmented workflows.
In response to emerging U.S. climate regulation, Persefoni rolled out a climate risk reporting service to support California SB 261 compliance, delivered in partnership with First Street. We also delivered updated CA SB 253 / CA-CCDDA metrics reports, aligned with the latest CARB templates, allowing organizations to prepare California disclosures using regulator-aligned formats populated directly from their emissions data.
Accelerating Automation and AI
Automation remained a core focus of Persefoni’s platform strategy in 2025, with continued expansion of AI-enabled workflows across data ingestion, validation, and reporting. This included OCR-powered document extraction capabilities available to Enterprise customers, enabling structured ingestion of unstructured inputs such as utility bills and invoices. These workflows reduce manual processing and improve consistency across high-volume datasets, helping teams move from raw documents to calculation-ready data more efficiently.
We also advanced machine-learning–based anomaly detection to automatically surface potential data gaps, outliers, and structural issues within large datasets, supporting earlier issue identification and review. In parallel, the platform continued developing smart emission factor matching, using natural language processing to map customer-provided procurement and spend data to the most appropriate emissions factors. Together, these capabilities embed applied intelligence directly into core workflows, improving data reliability while maintaining transparency and human oversight.
Deeper Capabilities Across the Sustainability Suite
Throughout the year, Persefoni broadened its platform depth with new Water and Waste dashboards, expanded facility-level tracking across Scope 3, and continued enhancements to Net Zero Navigator, delivering more precise scenario modeling and decarbonization planning.
For financial institutions, the introduction of the Investments Positions Manager represented a major leap forward, simplifying financed emissions workflows by consolidating uploads, automating data quality scoring, and unlocking more actionable portfolio insights at scale.
Customer Impact Across Industries
In 2025, organizations across healthcare, finance, manufacturing, consumer goods, and technology (among others) used Persefoni to operationalize sustainability data and drive measurable outcomes.
Customers such as Xerox, FM Conway, Pleo, Joe & The Juice, General Atlantic, and Aichi Financial Group used Persefoni to streamline emissions tracking, improve disclosure readiness, and integrate sustainability data into broader business decision-making.
A highlight of our year (as always!) was Persefoni’s Annual Customer Summit, where sustainability leaders came together in Scottsdale, Arizona, to share best practices, engage directly with our product teams, and preview what’s ahead in 2026. The conversations reinforced a shared reality: sustainability data is becoming foundational to how organizations manage risk, performance, and long-term value.
